Chairman of the Bissa Development Association (BDA) Alhaji Shaibu Musah Gutare Zanni will on sunday address the Bissa people to mark the first anniversary of his administration.

It comes 41 days ahead of the annual Zecular festival to be held at the  traditional town of Kulungungu.

The virtual address via zoom will highlight the performance of the Gutare Zanni-led National Executive Committee (NEC) in the past 12 months.

The administration in June last year launched it’s  three year Stretegic Plan on it’s first 100 days in office and much of Sunday’s event will center more on what has been achieved out of the six goals strategic plan.

Mr Zanni will take time to talk about the progress made, the challenges faced, the opportunities and threats going forward.

His address will feature on some major changes made in the executive set-up after the demise of it’s National Organiser in November last year.

It will also cover the preparations being made towards the 2022 Zekula Festival, amid concerns raised about it being celebrated in the month of Ramadan.

The Association has in the past months focused on Sensitization and  reorganisation at the Zonal and Regional levels to bring more Bissas under the BDA umbrella.

On 6th Match 2021 the five elected executive were sworn into office by the office of the Lemagan with 8 other  members being appointed later by the chairman to form the NEC.

It has since taken steps to addressing a number of pertinent issues facing the Bissas as contained in the strategic plan.

Speaking to bissanewsonline, Chairman Gutare Zanni indicated that sunday’s address will not be different from what was done during the 100 Days of his administration last year.

“It is about accounting for our stewardship to the people in the past 357 days that we took charge,” Chairman Gutare said.

Women’s Commissioner Madam Dorah Kulariba and her Deputy Sakina Salifu Dabre were among the 8 appointed members of the NEC

The 13-member NEC is made up of 11 men and two women but there has been calls for more women to take up more leadership roles to make things balance.
