The Chairman of the Bissa and Development Authority (BDA), Shaibu Musah Guatare Zanni ,has been called to the Ghana Bar as part of the passed list of the 2021 year group of the Ghana School of Law, earning a significant milestone for himself and the Bissa community.

It comes after three years of hectic times combining work with studying as well as chairing the developmental wing of the Bissa fraternity.

At the 60th enrollment ceremony organised by the General Legal Council (GLC) in Accra, held on Friday, October 20, Gutare became one of the over 2,000 graduates sworn into office, formally obtaining their licensure to practise law in that jurisdiction.

With an impressive record of accomplishment as the BDA Chairman, Guatare’s attainment of this legal milestone highlights his dedication and commitment to both the legal profession and his role in shaping the Bissa developmental agenda.

He joins a tall list of Bissa kinsmen and women who have sacrificed their leisure time to undertake difficult tasks to join the legal profession.

During his time at the Ghana School of Law, Guatare displayed exceptional legal acumen and demonstrated a profound understanding of various legal disciplines. His strong work ethic, dedication, and analytical skills have undoubtedly played a pivotal role in his successful completion of the programme.

Guatare’s accomplishment serves as an inspiration to aspiring legal professionals and underscores the importance of hard work, perseverance, and continuous education in achieving personal and professional goals. It is a testament to the notion that individuals from various backgrounds can excel in multiple domains, bringing fresh perspectives and contributing positively to society.

It comes just a year after the fraternity was blessed with the call of lawyers Fati Yallah and Saratu Jenepha Suleiman Yorda to the Ghana bar. Nadia Ali-Yallah was also called to the Georgia Bar in the USA.

As he assumes his new role as a lawyer, Guatare is expected to bring his wealth of experience and expertise to the strengthening of the BDA, which he has chaired since 2021. His unique perspective and knowledge will serve as valuable assets in addressing legal issues related to Bissa unity.

The legal fraternity has warmly welcomed Guatare, recognising his potential to contribute to the field through his multidimensional background. Colleagues and peers anticipate that his presence will enrich legal discussions and promote innovative solutions for the challenges faced within the industry.

Family and other members of the BDA joined the celebration of success

Alhaji Shaibu Gutare, a staff member of the Ghana Revenue Authority, assumed the chairmanship of the National Executive Committee of the BDA by popular acclamation on March 6, 2021, after facing no competition for that position.

His administration’s tenure comes to an end in March next year.
