The Yorda Palace in Mamobi on Saturday, 20th February, held a “ground-running” meeting, looking at ways to expedite action on its developmental programs for the Bissa fraternity in the Ayawaso North.
It came under the auspices of Chief Hudu Umar Yorda lI, who ascended to the seat of leadership two months ago, succeeding his late dad Chief Umar Yorda.
It was a successful event presided over by Alhaji Shaibu Adam in the absence of Chief Yorda ll, who is currently out of the country.
It was a short but fruitful deliberation that hosted most of the Bissa leaders and fine brains the community can boast of.
Talks of unification, famialiarisation, educational support and job opportunities dominated the meeting, which was attended by over 30 members – males and females.
Also on the agenda was the 1st anniversary celebration of Chief Yorda lI’s coronation, of which Chaiman Alaley suggested “preparation must begin as early as possible” for a successful organisation.
The Ayawaso North Bissa fraternity, just like many other communities, has a more youthful Bissa population, whose brighter future largely lies in education skills training and employment opportunities.

Chief Hudu Umar Yorda lI officially came to power on December 19th, seven months after the demise of Chief Umar Yorda.
According to Imam Sambare, before the young Bissa leader’s departure to Brazil, he outlined his aims and aspirations for his people.
