A senior immigration officer, Awudu Issifu Tobinyale, has successfully been inducted into the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAG) after obtaining his qualifications to be a chartered accountant.
Mr. Tibinyale, a Chief Superintendent at Ghana Immigration Service, was one of 395 graduates who achieved academic excellence from the Institute in August 2022.
And he officially became a certified member of the ICAG on Tuesday, January 14, 2023, after being sworn into office during a graduation ceremony held at the UPSA Auditorium.
It took him three years to follow his dream of becoming a chattered accountant after backing it up with action to overcome all challenges involved in it.
He began working as an immigration officer while focusing on getting his qualifications to become an accountant.
And his hard work paid off after three years of combining work in the office with studies on campus.
Speaking to Bissanewsonline, Tobinyale said he has always had the penchant to fight to the top, wherever he finds himself.
“It took me three (3) years to realize this long-awaited qualification,” he said.
“The idea to charter came after my Polytechnic education in 2003, but I couldn’t start immediately due to financial constraints; however long it took me, I told myself I must charter.
“What motivated me to take up the challenge was the fact that I wanted to be on top of my career and matter in financial decision making in my service and to the country anytime the opportunity comes.”
To become a chartered accountant, one must combine innovative education with mentored work experience to produce an accountant that possesses a greater ability to analyze and interpret business problems and develop dynamic solutions.
He expressed delight about his achievement while attributing it to determination, prayers, and encouragement from family, friends, and lecturers.
He recounted his torrid journey and how he triumphed over the odds to accomplish the recent feat. The resilient young man took the opportunity to share his journey, inspiring other people.
“I feel delighted and great, because it has always been one of my dreams to become a chartered accountant,” he told Bissanewsonline’s Abdul Malik Guerni.
“It is a rare privilege to achieve this as combining work with studies hasn’t been easy.
“My short message to my Bissa brethren, both those already in the financial space and those who are nursing the intention to start, is that they should not relent at all but make a little sacrifice.
“We will be able to make the best possible contribution in our various capacities if we obtain the needed knowledge.
“Let us not stop learning, for that is the surest way to impact our communities.”
Mr. Awudu Issifu Tobinyale is married with six children and his remarkable story thus puts him among a long list of Bissas, who have carved themselves out as role models for many Bissa youth.
