Amadu The Boy: Bissa fraternity loses another top Brass in the US

His death is described as a major blow to the Bissa community, which has lost several influential leaders recently across Ghana and the US.

The global Bissa fraternity has been in mourning once again following the death of Ahmed Abdul-Mumuni Bandaogo, a highly respected figure, in the Bronx, New York.

Mumuni Bandaogo, popularly known as Amadu The Boy passed away in the early hours of Sunday, May 5th in the Bronx, New York, according to a statement from his family.

Renowned for his affable personality and steadfast commitment to uplifting Bissa communities both in his native Ghana and the diaspora, Amadu left an indelible mark on the global Bissa fraternity.

The Greater Accra Bissa Palace paid tribute to the late leader, describing him as “a heavyweight and a nice gentleman” whose loss will be profoundly felt.

“This is to inform all and sundry that Bissas have lost another heavyweight and a nice gentleman in far away Bronx, New York in the United States of America,” the palace’s statement read.
“The deceased is in the person of Ahmed Abdul-Mumuni Bandaogo known in private life as Amadu The Boy. May Allah have His numerous mercies on him.”

The statement further revealed that Amadu was the cousin of the late Bissa Chief Mohammed Ali Dabre III and the current Greater Accra Bissa Chief, Alhaji Salisu Ali Dabre IV, as well as being related to the wider Dabre family in America.

Before relocating to the United States in 2009, Amadu served as the Upper East Regional Security Coordinator in Ghana.

Amadu’s passing deals another significant blow to the global Bissa community, which has mourned the loss of several influential traditional leaders and personalities across Ghana and the United States in recent times. Funeral arrangements are currently being coordinated between his American family and the Greater Accra Bissa Palace to ensure he receives a befitting traditional sendoff ceremony.

As tributes continue to pour in from Bissa leaders across territories, the community remembers a man whose humility, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the upliftment of his people will be sorely missed. Amadu’s decades of tireless service have cemented his legacy as a beloved son of the global Bissa fraternity.

He is survived by a wife and six children .
