All necessary arrangements for a successful Sukuma Walk scheduled for Sunday, December 25, 2022, in Kumasi have been made, BDA organizers have said.
Hundreds of people are expected to participate in the walk that comes just a day before the Sukuma festival on Monday.
The keepfit program put together by the Bissa Development Association in collaboration with the Ashanti Regional Council of Bissa Chiefs is meant to galvanize support and gather momentum for Monday’s grand event.
Speaking to Bissanewsonline.com, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the BDA, Yaaba, said plans for a colorful walk await Bissas in the Ashanti region tomorrow.
“Everything looks set for tomorrow,” he said.
“We are doing this to bring Bissas from all Bissas in Kumasi and beyond under one umbrella to exercise and get educated on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
“It is part of the activities slated for the celebration of the Sukuma Festival on Monday, and it will be nice to have everyone around.”
The walk will start at 6 a.m. at the Bissa Chief’s Palace at NZ1 in Sabona Zongo, proceed through the principal streets of the Aboabo, and then culminate at the Kumasi Jubilee Park.
Members of the Bissa Council of Chiefs will participate in the walk, which is intended to bring all Bissas together to socialize and interact with one another ahead of the Sukuma Festival on Boxing Day.
A list of Bissa musical icons led by Star Gyal will be in attendance to entertain participants as they sweat it out for a healthy living.
