The bereaved Nombre family and the Greater Accra Council of Bissa Chiefs have expressed gratitude to the Bissa Fraternity for their generous support before and during the funeral rites of the late Alhaji Osman Issaka Nombre, who was the National Organiser of the Bissa Development Association (BDA).
A massive show of unity and public sympathy characterised the 7th Day Intercessory prayers (Dua) for the late Issaka Nombre who was popularly known as Alhaji Weapon.
A joint statement issued by the Nombre family and the Greater Accra council of Bissa Chiefs expressed an utmost appreciation to Bissas, the Muslim Fraternity and the entire general public for the compassion they showed upon the death of the loved one, the support they offered for his burial and funeral, and the outpouring of love.
“The family of Alhaji Issaka Osman Nombre (Weapon), Greater Accra Council of Bissa Chiefs wish to thank all those who supported in diverse ways during the 7th Day Islamic Prayer for our departed brother, the National Organiser of the BDA, Alhaji Weapon over the weekend,” the statement read.
“The Greater Accra Council of Bissa Chiefs, Sub – chiefs and Womens Wing have commended the Bissa Development Association, BDA, for it’s unflinching support and show of love during this difficult time, especially the Bissa LEMAGAN, Dominic Sori Payida, the Bissa Study Group, the BDA Chairman, Alhaji Shaibu Musa Gutare, various Regional BDA heads and the entire leadership of the BDA across the country.
“We once again say thank you for your support.”

The late Osman Issaka Nombre, who served in the BDA for eight months, was also the Gateway Chief at the Dabre Palace in Greater Accra.
His sudden death shocked the entire Bissa Fraternity as the family says it is still struggling to recover from his absence.
He died on the 27th of November, the very day he was marking his 62nd birthtday.
There is a plan to mark his 40th day Dua, which details will be communicated later.
