Aisha Zampaligiri: National Best Nurse pays triumphant visit to National chief Imam after glorious feat

2021 National Best Nurse Aisha Bawa Hamisu Zampaligiri on Saturday made a euphoric visit to the National Chief Imam Shaikh Osumanu Nuhu Sharubutu, presenting  her award to the eminent Muslim leader.

It comes just hours after Aisha was voted as the best Nurse at the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) 2nd Annual National Awards 2021.

Accompanied by family members, the registered Midwife at the Manhyia District Hospital in Ashanti Region visted the Fadama residence of the Imam, riding in her new saloon car she received as her prize.

They were greeted by hundreds  of fans who exploded into shrieks of delight as they mobbed the triumphant health professional at the arrival.

Receiving the award from Aisha and her team  the chief imam praised the Bissa lady for her stellar performance in her field and urged her to work even harder to save lives of mothers and children.

The team also thanked the Imam for his prayers and support to Muslims and the entire nation.

She promised to work with passion to ensure safe delivery at her facility in a her quest to reducing the rate of maternal mortality in the country.

 

Born to a Zampaligiri Dad and a Zerba Mum, Aisha on Friday grabbed the headlines as she  made the Ashanti region and the Bissa fraternity proud by annexing the ultimate prize  awards program initiated  last year to honour dedicated  and  hardworking  Nurses and Midwives in the country

After winning the Ashanti Regional best Nurse, went on to become the National best at 2nd edition of Annual National Awards held during the GRNMA 61th Anniversary dinner and awards night at the Kempinski Hotel on Friday  17th December.

The member of the Bissa Healthworkers Union embarked on more than 200 km journey to the national capital as a Regional best but conquered all to  return to the Ashanti Region as a national best.

She was one of 10 Regional  finalists made up of  Nurses and Midwives who stepped forward for the challenge but it was the Bissa woman whose performance appeared so good enough to triumph.

She was presented with a brand new car valued  over GHC100,000, a Laptop and a Citation.

The winner was chosen on the bases of innovation, dedication and hard work.

 

She caps  off the year grand  style  after  her 8 years experience in service, walking  back to the Ashanti  region with victory.

A wife and mother of two, Zampaligiri has been exceptional at her Manhyia facility and has over the years been hailed by her patience.

She is a member  of the Bissa Healthworkers  Union and thus  becomes one of a role model, whose story can inspire other young health practitioners to give off their best for the country.

She holds a diploma from the Nursing and Midwifery training college in Kumasi and BSc midwifery from the Kwame Nkrumah University of science and technology Kumasi. Since 2013 she has been the Champion and Focal Person in Newborn Care Manhyia District Hospital, Regional Facilitator in helping babies breathe (HBB) and Essential care for every baby (ECEB) Ghana Health Service, Health promoter (Radio and TV) on Maternal and Newborn issues and general health program.
