The 40th day intercessory prayer (dua) for the late Bissa Imam of Tema Alhaji Seidu Bansi will be held on Saturday 28th November, an official information indicates.
Alhaji Seidu Mahmoud Bancey died on the 18th of October aged 76 in Accra after a short illness.
It comes as one of two big events for the Bissa fraternity in this weekend as it concides with the 10 year anniversary of Chief Dabre’s coronation.
However, a statement by the Bancey family indicates the dua at Tema will start hours ahead of the anniversary celebration in Accra to allow Bissa to partake in both.
“The Bancey Family of Tema Community 1 is extending it’s invitation to you all, to the 40 Days Duah of the Late Alhaji Imaam Saeed Mahmoud Bancey ,” the family statement read.
“The event will be held at the Bissa Chief’s Residence, Site – 1, Tema (Busanga House), which is around the Padmore School.
“Quran recitation will commence at 9:30am.May the Almighty have mercy on all gone souls.”
Alhaji Seidu Bancey, until his demise, was the Bissa Imam of Tema and a father to former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and New Edubiase FC striker Seidu Bancey.
He is also an elder brother to the Bissa Chief of the Tema community.
Saturday’s event is expected to attract a huge number of Muslims and other religious groups.
