3rd Day Adua of late Khadija Ibrahim Bandao held in Tema

The 3rd Day Adua of the late Khadija Ibrahim Bandao, wife of the late Tema Bissa Chief Ibrahim Mahmoud Bancey II, was held today amidst prayers and condolences from the Bissa community.

The ceremony took place at the Bissa Chief’s residence in Community One, Site One, opposite the Ghana News Agency in Tema. Running from 10:00 to 12:00, the event drew a large gathering of mourners, including executives of the Bissa Development Association (BDA) and prominent members of the Bissa community.

The Adua, an Islamic prayer ceremony observed on the third day after burial, serves as an important ritual where prayers are offered for the deceased’s soul and for the comfort of the bereaved family.

In his address to the gathering, family representative Alhaji Mohammed Bancey thanked all who attended for their support during this period of mourning. “The Bancey family is grateful for your presence and prayers during this difficult time,” he said.

The late Khadija Ibrahim Bandao was eulogised as a devoted mother, grandmother, and community leader who embodied the values of service and dedication. Her role as the wife of the late Tema Bissa Chief saw her contribute significantly to cultural preservation and community unity.

Islamic clerics led the congregation in prayers, with attendees joining in recitations from the Quran seeking divine mercy for the departed.

Members of the Bissa ethnic group, including representatives from the Bissa Development Association (BDA), attended in strong numbers, demonstrating the deep respect held for the late Khadija Ibrahim Bandao and the Bancey family within the community.

The ceremony concluded with traditional refreshments and continued prayers for the soul of the late Khadija Ibrahim Bandao to rest in Janatul Firdaus (Paradise).

The Bancey family continues to receive condolences at the family residence in Tema.
