Kir Adam Yurusah

On February 11, Kir Adam Yurusa facilitated the formation of the BDA Zone in Madina, making it the first of the zones to be created in the country.
He was subsequently awarded by the Zone for his contribution towards the development of Bissa in the Madina Community.

Kir Suallah Saeed Sare

On Sunday, May 8th, Bissa Chief of New Bortiano and New Weija Kir Sualla Saeed Sari launched his customized note book as he hosted the Zekula Salla Fiesta at his palace. Over 10,000 books have so far been distributed to Bissas students out of his singular philanthropic works. He had earlier made a huge cash donation to the Brand Bissa Concept (BBC) for initiating the Book the Bissa Child project and futher contributed in divers ways towards the well-being and development of Bissas across the country.

Kir Dawuda Mustapha Lengani

On October 2, Kir Dawuda Mustapha Lengani marked a coronation ceremony as the Bissa Chief, Gomoa Fetteh.

Having been nominated by the Gomoa Fetteh Traditional Council, Kir Lengani went through traditional Bissa rituals to mark the beginning of his reign, which came off in a flamboyant fashion.

Imam Hassan Uthman Nombre

Imam Hassan Nombre

Imam Hassan Uthman Nombre, the Bissa Chief Imam of Greater Accra, was among the millions of Muslims who embarked on the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.

Prince Adam Alale

Shaibu Adam Alale; Greater Accra BDA Chairman

Prince Adam Alale was appointed the Greater Accra BDA Chairman in August, and his passion for the association has seen his administration expedite action in the reorganization of Bissas in the region.

He has single-handedly established an awards scheme for his executive members as a motivational move for the association to achieve its aim.

Zakari Ayaaba Seone

Despite playing a dual role as secretary for the Ashanti Regional Council of Bissa Chiefs and the regional BDA, Zakari Ayaaba Seone was put in charge of the organization of Sukuma 2022, and he ensured the maiden event ended in success.

Kir Mustapha Mawzu Compaore

Campaore

On Friday, December 3, an elder in the Bissa Palace in Tema Kir Mustapha Mawzu Compaore was adjudged the 2022 Best Farmer for the Tema Metropolis, joining a long list of Bissas making it big in the agricultural sector.

Abubakar Abdul Karim Lure

Lure

In November, Abdul Karim Lure established the Lure Transport Company, which has both domestic and international bus services.

Lure Transport Company operates international services to Burkinabe towns such as Garongo, Tankudougo, and Zabre.

It also plies some internal cities such as Tamale, Zebila, and Bolgatanga. According to the CEO, plans are also in place to extend services to other cities in West Africa.

Fati Ali-Yallah, Esq

On Friday, June 23, a long-standing member of the Development Association (BDA), Hajia Fati Ali-Yallah, was called to the Ghana Bar to commence her legal profession in the country.

Nihad Ali-Yallah, Esq

Yallah

On November 4, Nadia Ali-Yallah, daughter of Dr. Alidu Ali-Yallah, was called to the Georgia, USA Bar, joining her aunt, lawyer Hajia Fati Ali-Yallah, in the legal profession.

She thus became the youngest lawyer to emerge from the Bissa fraternity after successfully completing her legal education at Mercer University Law School in Macon, Georgia, USA.

Saratu Jenepha Suleiman Yorda, Esq.

On November 11, a lecturer at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Pantang, Saratu Jenepha Suleiman Yorda, was called to the Ghana Bar.

On Friday, June 17, 2022, Dr. Farida Ganform Adam (Tarnageda) was inducted into office by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council in a ceremony held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

On October 29,  Dr Hamdalah Haruna Sanwini, a Yangtze University in China, was inducted into the Medical office by Ghana Medical and Dental Council in a ceremony held at the Accra. She was the only female among five Bissas to be inducted on that day.

On November 26, Rabiatu Iddris Sumaila Zerba, a midwife, graduated from the University of Wisconsin, successfully grabbing her first degree in BSC midwifery. It marked an upgrade in both her academic and professional statuses after years of practice as a diploma holder.

On December 17, the National Women’s Commissioner of the Bissa Development Association (BDA), Madam Dora Kulariba Sewuni, obtained her Masters in Public Health from the Ghana Institute of Management and Professional Administration (GIMPA).

On December 17, a Russian-trained medical doctor who works at the Ghana Police Hospital, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Nadiatu Sarene, grabbed her master’s degree in public health from the Ghana Institute of Management and Professional Administration (GIMPA).

On May 1, incumbent NPP Deputy Secretary for the Adentan Constituency Abdul Ganiu Mohammed was reelected to office. He was one of the few Bissa men to have contested and won an NPP executive position in a Greater Accra constituency.

On May 27, business mogul Mr Bukari Baba Ibrahim, popularly known as IB, was elected the new Bono East Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), ousting the incumbent Chairman with a landslide victory in the regional contest.

Sakina Dabre

Sakina Salifu Dabre, a principal health tutor at Holy Family Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Berekum, was appointed the new Bono Regional Deputy Women’s Organiser for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in June.

On October 22, Fawziah Mohammed Kumpoury was elected as the NDC Deputy Youth Organizer for the Tema West Constituency.

On Saturday, December 17, Malik Basintale was elected the first deputy National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the national congress held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko (Yemboni)

On February 16, Ibrahim Tanko (Yemboni) was appointed the technical director of Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions. He was also appointed on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, as Head Coach of the Black Meteors and triumphantly led the team to complete the double over Mozambique to qualify for the final round of the CAF U-23 AFCON qualifiers.

Mohammed Alhassan (Tarnageda)

On June 26, Deputy Skipper of Accra Hearts of Oak, Alhassan captained his side to win the Ghana MTN FA Cup with a 2–1 victory over Bechem United in a final played at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The Tarnageda, born earlier on March 4, played an admirable defensive role when the Phobians beat Asante Kotoko in the President’s Cup played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Abdul Aziz Nurudeen (Bandaogo)

Abdul Aziz Nurudeen Bandaogo’s season at Accra Hearts of Oak was rocked by injuries. Nonetheless, he played a huge role in the two thrones won by the Phobians. He actually started the March 4 President’s Cup game. He missed the FA Cup final game in Kumasi, however.
His performance in midfield had been fantastic until his injury layoff.

Sannie Mohammed Bansie

Sannie Mohammed Bansie, the coach of the Greater Accra Bissa team, led his squad to the runner-up position in the 2022 Zongo Intertribal Gala Competition out of 20 tribes.

He doubles as one of the financiers of the team, with the aim of unearthing talents for the national team. His contribution towards sports development within the Bissa fraternity has been hailed by many across the country.

Aisha Abdul Malik Nyenyi

Queenzy Baby

Two hit songs in 2022—”Group de Yille” and “I am going to make it”—make songstress Aisha Abdul Maik one of the achievers of the year.

Popularly known in showbiz as Queenzy Baby, she ended the year on high notes after touring the country to play some shows.

Star Gyal Bansi

Bansi

The composer of the theme song for the 2022 Sukuma, sultry musician Star Gyal Bansi, was one of the revelations of the year.

She was deservedly rewarded at the Sukuma festival for her creativity.

She had earlier composed a song, titled “kir Suallah Saeed,” in celebration of the Bissa Chief of New Bortiano/New Weija.

A sports Journalist of international repute, Ayisha Zakara Ali, within the year under review, covered lots of Sporting activities both local International. She was in Morocco for the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
