The Acting Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe Bonnie has appointed, pursuant to Article 148 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and Section 12 of the Judicial Service Act 2020, Act 1057, the learned Musah Ahmed as the Judicial Secretary.
The learned Musah Ahmed, a Senior private Lawyer and manager of Ahmed Legal Consult in accordance with section 13 of Act 1057 shall be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Judicial Service and shall be answerable to the Chief Justice in the performance of such functions.
The learned Musah Ahmed shall, according to the Judicial Service Act, perform any other function determined by the Chief Justice. Mr. Ahmed replaces Dr. Cyracus Badinye Bapuuroh who heads to the High Court Bench next week together with some 40 other Circuit Court Judges and Lawyers.
The appointment of Mr. Ahmed serves as another move by the learned Acting Chief Justice in the shake up of the Judicial Service after the suspension and now, exit of the former Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo.
