A Bissa student of the Madina Institute of Science and Technology was, on Saturday, July 10 July, adjudged the Best SRC Judicial Committee Chairperson at the 2021 Private Universities Students’ Association of Ghana (PUSAG) Excellence Awards.
Madam Asana Awuni Ayubah Yantunor, who is the Chief Justice of the Student Representative Council (SRC) of the Madina Institute of Science and Technology, had her name written in the history books of the event held at the National Theatre.
Fourty different awards were up for grabs among hundreds of shortlisted students.
But Asana sailed through easily after she went unopposed in that category by the closure of nominations.
Asana, a level 400 student offering Human Resource Management, set the stage into delirium when she walked to the podium for her awards.
She is a firefighter in the Ghana National Fire Service and married with three children-all girls.
She is a past student of University Primary and JSS legon and West African Secondary School.
The Bissa woman was hailed by her colleagues in the school’s SRC following her exceptional leadership qualities.
The PUSAG Awards is meant to celebrate and reward the most hardworking and deserving students and other stakeholders for their immense contributions and sacrifices towards education in the country.
Over hundred students were nominated for the various award categories, with the winners being determined through public votes.
It was an event that brought together all the Private Tertiary Institutions in the country under one roof.
It attracted a lot of dignitaries, particularly those in the educational sector.
Those who graced the occasion included the former minister of state in charge of Tertiary Education, Prof. Kwasi Yankah, former Ambassordor and minister of Education and Trade, Dr.EkowSpio-Garbrah and the Member of Parliament for Assn-North and deputy minister of education, Rev.JohnNtim Fordjour amongst others.
